We set off for B&Q this morning, only to find that the Marazion Bypass was closed due to an accident - Jim being keen to shop today because we get 15% discount we decided that the route through Marazion town would be one long queue, so off we went through Goldsithney and off on the little lanes that eventually brough us to the A30. As we headed back we could see that the policeman was starting to remove the cones and signs, so after a couple of spins round the roundabout we were able to head for home - the queue of traffic coming from the Helston direction was very very long and must have taken a while to clear. So it only took us 1 and a half hours to do what should have been a 25 minute job
Just a paddler out on the water
But the constant dark clouds just kept sweeping over the bay
As an ex-Cornwall resident now living in California, I enjoy looking at your beautiful photographs every morning to start my day. I still have a home near the Helford, but don't get to visit often enough, just twice a year is the maximum.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, so pleased you enjoy the photos over there in California - not really been a great year for photography, but we always take a camera with us on our walks - just in case ! We shall be spreading our wings a bit further afield now that the season is over - Falmouth & Mylor are great favourites. Sue
DeleteJust looked at your pictures of the Lizard. That water is an unbelievable colour. We were over at the cottage in May and I took my husband for a trip down to Penwith. The sea at Sennen and also the Minack was just like it is in your photos as it was a very hot day. He is a Yorkshire boy so I still enjoy taking him to parts of Cornwall he hasn't seen, and showing off the county to him.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, We were lucky yesterday as the sun shone the whole day until around 3pm when cloud appears - that's when the water looks so good as the sand is quite pale - just like St Ives, Sennen and of course the Isles of Scilly - it's because there's so much Mother of Pearl from the shells in it that it reflects back through the water.
DeleteWe are still finding places that for some reason we've never been to - but some of the old favourites are worth visiting over and over again ! Sue
So that's the reason? Thanks for explaining that.
