Late afternoon in Penzance

Scillonian III all tucked up on Albert Pier and not sailing tomorrow due to  gales expected along with yet more rain tonight and tomorrow. She's due to go on Thursday if the weather improves.
Penzance Harbour looking very full, due to the Spring Tides - one of the highest of the year I gather and if the barometric pressure is low then it might be even higher than expected - as I well remember from when our garden in Tresillian ended up full of river water for a while !

    1. Thanks for the info Chris - we'll look out for her. Is she based in Scotland - she spends a lot of time up there ! Looks like the wind will have abated by then, but not sure about the sea round Lands End !

  2. Hi Sue, yes based in Glasgow but sails in the Bristol Channel, Solent and Thames areas also. She has a fleetmate called Balmoral - she covered for Scillonian III once when the old faithful had gearbox problems.

Waverley will cross Mounts Bay around 2300 tonight, she was delayed getting underway due to poor weather. Final sailing of the season on Sunday out of Glasgow then she's finished with engines for 2012.

    1. Hi Chris - I had found her this morning close to the Isle of Wight and guessed she'd pass overnight as the conditions are nice and cal now - such a pity. Thanks for the info. Sue
