The stunning old SY Mariette of 1915 that we saw in Mount's Bay in September rather a contrast to the one behind her
The old Lowestoft Trawler Keewadin that we used to see around Mount's Bay & Scilly a lot - she hit a rock in the Tresco Chanel last Summer and she left the area and we haven't seen her since.
"The sailing trawler ‘Keewaydin’ has a long and colourful history. She was built in 1913 at Rye by G & T Smith for Lowestoft owners, where she went to trawl the North Sea banks. In 1937 she went to the Baltic, where she was used to carry cargo. She served faithfully in both World Wars, carrying refugees from Denmark to neutral Sweden, and in one trip carried a total of 420 commandos."
Falmouth looking very full of blue & white vessels today, this one is a Ro-ro cargo boat the Bering Strait
