Not sure who got the raw deal this morning, me walking the dogs in the bitterly cold Easterly wind, or Jim braving the Bank Holiday shoppers at Morrisons & Tesco - I gather it was nearly parking wars at one point !
We were expecting rain at some point today - it didn't arrive until later this afternoon and at the moment it's still not raining very hard - but it looks like it will later.
I was expecting to be able to watch Scillonian III go out past Mousehole - but still no sign of her !
No parking wars here or tussling over the last leg of lamb. Easter is a non-event in the US. It is called Spring Break so as not to offend anyone, and Good Friday seems like a normal day, except the Stock Exchange is shut. Easter Monday is work as normal too. Easter Sunday is just like any Sunday except there are baskets and Easter egg hunts, some fancier food being cooked judging from all the recipes in the New York Times, and that is it really. I am glad the Greek family across the street seem to have an occasion going on with visitors and best clothes, so they must have been to the local Greek Orthodox church.
ReplyDeleteI fear it's not much more than a four day holiday here really - a few suitable programs on the TV but not like it used to be. Certainly not as wild as the Spring Breaks I've seen on various TV programs he he !
Deletehello - you say on your banner bit
ReplyDeleteThe Lynfield Centre has a Craft Centre, which also houses Cornish Wools, a Gallery, a Hairdressers & Beauty Parlour, together with the Peppercorn Kitchen Cafe.
but the beauty place went long ago. maybe you should update it?
best wishes
Assumed that the beauty Palour was with the hairdressers will remove it - as anyone who's met me will know - I've never used a Beauty Parlour in my life ! !
