Nice little boat heading East and on the Horizon is the only one of the big Imoca 60's in the Fastnet Race that came anywhere near us. It's a well known Vendee Globe (single handed round the world) boat Safran sailed by Marc Guillemot and a co crew.
A strange day, with a "spikey" looking horizon as all the Fastnet yachts came past.
All the pink boats are yachts in the Fastnet Race. Felt rather sorry for any big cargo shops out there today - that the green and red ones trying to get through this lot - one came into the bay a little to get away from them. They are all around the Isles of Scilly at the moment - although the big fast Trimarans are already back South Mount's Bay having rounded the Fastnet Rock - off Southern Ireland on their way to the finish in Plymouth.
