We'd had sunshine and showers all afternoon and we had managed to remember that dog walking needs to be earlier than it has usually been for the last few months
We went prepared - with waterproof jackets on as it was looking like we might need them
It didn't look too bad as we got to the top of the hill - but the rain wasn't coming from that direction
It rained for a few minutes, then stopped, so we carried on - but the large grey cloud to the left didn't look good,
and it seemed to be moving fast, so we went up the path towards Boat Cove Lane, to head for home - we made it back just in time, before a very heavy and prolonged shower
As we walked through the village, there was a swoosh overhead and there they were the ever growing flock of Starlings
So glad that the storm was not as bad as anticipated. Porthleven always gives the most dramatic photographs, doesn't it? I called my friend Di - she of the calendars' address- and she said it wasn't bad there and even considered a walk to the village hall last night for an RNLI concert. Glad that all was well as I have monitored the BBC weather site. Lynn
ReplyDeleteWe were lucky indeed.
ReplyDeleteDid Di, tell you that the Planning Application for all those new houses in Mawnan had been refused - I'm sure they'll appeal, but at least it failed at the first hurdle !
