Went out onto the balcony during a finer spell in between showers to switch on the lights and suddenly noticed that a wave went right over Cudden Point. so got the camera and took a few photos whilst the sea looked blue and a bit brighter.
Gather Fire crews have been working overnight to try to stop the River Cober bursting its banks - again - just 12 months since the last time ! I gather they managed to stop any serious flooding.
More photos later - after the power cuts of yesterday I've got lots of cooking/baking to do !
Hello Sue, Jim, Tilly and Wooster.
ReplyDeletefingers crossed for the people of Helston and that the river doesn't bust it's banks. We got home early to discover the front of our shed has blown off! Hopefully we've managed to truss it enough for it to stay together. Can't wait to do shed hunting in the sales! We hope your baking and Christmas cooking gets on Ok. David made us a cake whilst I hammered the shed!
Have a very Merry Christmas. with our love Susan and David
Oh dear, poor shed !
DeleteJim's repair on the wind fence didn't hold, the wind shook the repair apart - it's just sagging onto the garden. He's very disappointed that I didn't mention that he bashed his thumb with a hammer during the repair work - looks like the nail will come off ! Hope you did no such damage to yourself !
The neighbours now have a completely open plan garden on one side - with almost all the fence panels gone !
Have a wonderful Christmas - here's hoping that the weather will be a bit kinder for New Year ! Jim & Sue
