Not a day you'd want to remember

Rain and wind was the order of the day - and boy ! did it rain and the wind was just as bad as expected - only it's been with us much longer than expected - 9.05pm and it's still pouring and this last lots brought the biggest gusts of wind of the day as well !
Just to make it the perfect day - we had a series of power off and on's with everything then needing to be switched back on etc. followed by a power cut of a few hours - not sure when it went off, but it came back at around 6pm - just in time for dinner.  We had de-camped to the garden lounge and the wood burner and watched 3 episodes of a DVD of The Detectives on my laptop.
Fortunately it looks as though everything in the fridges and freezers is OK.
Just a few photos that I took during a brief lull in the rain. It really doesn't do justice to the wild sea that I was seeing.
Sadly the dogs missed out on their walkies yet again - too wet and windy to take them out here and not safe to take them to the woods - but they were quite happy in front of the wood burner !
I'd almost rather be here in windy and wet Perranuthnoe than on board the cruise ship Balmoral with my poor sister - they set sail on Saturday night and have now crossed the Bay of Biscay at a very slow speed and obviously in a big swell and they are now listing The Canaries as their next port of call - it should have been Lisbon, which Pat was really looking forward to as they've been before and loved it. Even The Queen Victoria missed her first port of call and is doing the same thing as heading straight for The Canary Islands - so they'll all be spending Christmas Day at sea - rather sad.
