Lanyon Quoit

As usual we stopped off at Lanyon Quoit - here with Greenburrow Engine House behind
Such an iconic part of the history of West Penwith
Through the windscreen as we drive down the Penzance Bypass

  1. Absolutely gorgeous photos, Sue. One of my favorite places to walk, but I have never made it to the Nine Maidens or even the engine house. I have usually stopped at Men-an-Tol and Lanyon Quoit because I am on my own so don't go too far from the road. We are going to Bonn first so won't be in Mawnan until July 2nd, so fingers crossed that there is some decent weather still although we have tons to do indoors.

    1. We really enjoyed the walk - seemed shorter than last time ! I can understand why you wouldn't want to go too far alone - it is quite remote - you need a Wooster & Tilly on a walk like that !
Hope you have a good trip over and that the weather reverts to hot sunshine again ! Sue

  2. Wonderful photo's...the magical Mount ! ! looks like a hard old walk on the moors ! What wonderful weather you had on Scilly....we have had lots of cloud and two afternoons of thunder and lightening....I didn't quite hide under the table !! Thanks Sue for another wonderful gallery for all of us to view.macca.

    1. Strangely it didn't seem to be such a hard walk as last time - perhaps our walking on Scilly has got us a bit fitter than before. The only spot I have trouble with is the stream in the gulley - jumped it the first time years ago, but seem to have lost my "spring" or is it just the confidence to do it. So I slithered down & stood on a stone and crawled up the other side - Jim offered to pull me up, but I was worried that he might go down as well ! He He ! Wouldn't have been as nice up there today - still mainly sunny but a chilly Easterly wind - no rain or storms yet, but possible in the next couple of days - might get to start on the holiday blog then ! Sue
