A day in St Ives, for "Boats in the Bay" - and lunch of course !

We park in the car park above The Tate Gallery and walk down the steps towards Porthmeor Beach, with the usual Surf School - busy as always on a Saturday
The RNLI Lifeguards with their rescue jet-ski
We walked out along the Coastal Footpath which eventually leads to Zennor - as you can see it's a very dramatic and testing section of the walk - we didn't go too far
The super colours in the water due to the lovely white sand
Looking back towards Porthmeor and The Island
Super walk, so close to St Ives
Think that this is where lots of the missing sand from Porthmeor has ended up - just round the corner
Lovely little beach - looks rather like a small Kynance Cove
Porthmeor since the Winter storms it has a two layer beach !
A happy smile from Jim as our food arrived at the wonderful Porthmeor Cafe - right over the beach - Jim had the Lime & Ginger Prawns and I had the Crispy Skin Sea Bass and we shared the hand cut chips with Rosemary & sea salt - well ! we needed to leave room for this ......
The main reason Jim was smiling - he'd been told that they'd got plenty of the Lemon Meringue Pie - it really is superb !

    1. Jim has discovered the delights of putting a meringue top onto a Sainsbury's Tarte au Citron - mind you he broke the mixer -(that's Jim for you !) so it is turning into an expensive Meringue ! I love Egg Custard - Jim's not bothered and we usually try to steer clear of too many puddings in a week.
Fish & Chips by the sea always taste so much better - sounds like a "grand day out "
Really enjoy St Ives - but not the crowded bit around the Harbour - will go back again when it's a bit quieter and walk in from Carbis Bay.

  3. Lovely pics of St Ives - we stopped off there for a visit after a Scilly holiday and walked up to the church on the Island after a look round the Tate and Barbara Hepworth on a really sunny day.

It was nice of you to share your chips with Rosemary - was she sitting on the next table ?

Thanks for the time you devote to your blog - we really enjoy following the activities and adventures of the dogs and the ever changing views.

    1. So pleased that you enjoy the blog, we love to share our photos of this beautiful part of Cornwall. We have some spare days this week and hope to get out a bit before the colder days arrive.
Think Jim has a soft spot for Rosemary - often goes into the garden looking for her when he's cooking ! ! Sue
