Wednesday

A rather cold and windy day although the sun was out it didn't seem to make it any warmer
It was gusting at around 50mph as I walked round Maen-dhu Point
Big beach, but hardly a soul down there

Jim went into Pz. to get some new glasses and took this of the harbour and dry dock pool
Lots of boats down in the harbour now
Spotted these three this afternoon - rather wild conditions out there
East wind as you can see
 Lovely Mahonia in full flower
I walked the dogs over the top to Trenow this afternoon

All the fields are being prepared for the next crop - more Cauliflowers I assume !
Dogs sticking to the path like good dogs !
The Rheas watched us walk past, sadly they haven't got a little house any more
 Windblown sky
Spotted this cruise ship and took some photos - although she was a long way out and the light was really bad.  Turns out she is Astoria and is (as of January 2016) the world's oldest active oceangoing passenger ship.  She was built in 1948 and sailed under the name of Stockholm for many years and then had several other names as she was bought and sold.
She is most famous for

Collision with Andrea Doria

On the night of July 25, 1956, at 11:10 pm, in heavy fog in the North Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Nantucket, the Stockholm and the Andrea Doria of the Italian Line collided in what was to become one of history's most notorious maritime disasters.
This is a photo of her after the colision.

Although most passengers and crew survived the collision, the larger Andrea Doria luxury liner capsized and sank the following morning. Owing to the collision, 50% of the Andrea Doria's lifeboats were unusable. However, a number of ships responded and provided assistance, which averted a massive loss of life.
Five crewmembers on the Stockholm were killed instantly and several more were trapped in the wrecked bow. Despite its having sunk about 3 ft (0.9 m), the crippled Stockholm helped in the rescue and ended up carrying 327 passengers and 245 crewmembers from the Andrea Doria, in addition to her own passengers and crew. After Andrea Doria sank, Stockholm sailed to New York City under her own power and arrived on July 27. The crushed bow portion was repaired at a cost of US$1 million three months later.
Walking back up Boat Cove Lane into the wind
Almost home, thank goodness, feeling rather odd, possibly a reaction to all the dentistry - head feels like someone elses my neck hurts and the wind today, hasn't helped at all.
