Sunday

A quick trip into Penzance for me in the wind and rain
When I took this I didn't know of the drama the previous evening and as it started to rain again I didn't venture further
This post from Les Rowe.  "Last night the Mali Rose (Steamship Company's replacement for the Gry Maritha) crashed into the fishing trawler Elizabeth N PZ100. It narrowly missed several other boats including our beloved Summer Wine.( That's her bow rail in the foreground)  Far too close for comfort"
Ginny Rowes photo of the damage to Mali Rose this morning
Gry Maritha is now back on her usual quay ready for loading tomorrow
As I got home Jim was preparing to take the dogs out as the rain and mizzle had cleared for a while
Still rather grey
Wooster met the girls and their visitor - and Amanda and Harvey

Afternoon and it was still grey - with just a little brightness
The colours are really Autumnal now

Not a good place to sit today - really windy out there

Really wild and messy sea

Lovely to look at if you don't have to be in a boat on there - Scillonian III's  sailing has been cancelled for tomorrow

Here's a group of Swallows who have bad timing - gales expected
The sun finding a gap in the dark grey clouds

It then peeked through another gap as it dropped out of sight
Some nice colours at the end

    1. Evidently the sale of Gry has fallen through as they obviously couldn't wait any longer - thank goodness or the islands would have had to rely on SCIII for all goods transport. It's the AGM of the Steamship Co. this week - should be interesting as a lot of angry people want answers - especially about the Judicial Review they demanded re: the new heliport. Look forward to hearing about it. It was fortunate that Mali only hit the trawler as there had been lots of other vessels in the wet dock, including the lovely Lugger Happy Return, tripper boat Mermaid and a local crabber Three Jays - the crew of which need to ear a living. The damaged trawler is a Stevenson owned one - it will need to go into dry dock for inspection and repair - as well as Mali Rose. Really bad time of year for this to happen as SCIII is weather restricted - and I gather so was Mali Rose - what a mess. Sue
