Tilly was not looking at all well this morning, although she did want to go out for a walkies, Jim could see she was really struggling so it was just a short one. Her poor old body had just had enough, so we all went to The Vets and said our goodbyes. So sad that she missed her 15th birthday by 3 days.
Tilly as a puppy in Leicestershire playing with Charlie Pointer and Big Dog, an old toy of Nicks that he gave to her. She actually moved to Cornwall at 14 weeks when her vaccinations were complete, but we had to go back and forth for another couple of months, until the house was sold.
She had a wonderful life down here and made many friends, we'll miss her.
So sorry to hear your sad news - Your Tilly had the very best life a dog could ever wish for - living so close to the coast and all the lovely walks she had with you both - she was a lucky girl and you were lucky to have had her for nearly 15 years - sending big hugs, so many of your readers will know and understand just how you're feeling right now xx
ReplyDeleteMany thanks - we knew it had to happen soon, but right in the middle of the chaos of selling Oamaru and my knee problems it's just a horrible week. Sue
DeleteI'm very sorry to read about Tilly. She really did her best. Sad time for you all. She couldn't have had a better life. You cared for her and about her so well.
ReplyDeleteHope your physical problems become markedly improved soon.
Thinking of you both. Betty ox
Thanks Betty - she'd done so well, but it really was for the best in the end. Hopefully my knee might improve in the next couple of days as the swelling goes down, but I won't hold my breath. Sue

Thanks - hard to remember what life was like before she arrived. Wooster seems to be OK so far. Sue & Jim

Yes, it seems strange not to be almost falling over her as she had got very clingy and was always close by. But it was an exceptional age for a Pointer so her life in Cornwall had obviously suited her. Wooster seems OK so far. Sue
DeleteJust had the chance to catch up with your blog. So very sad to learn about Tilly. She had the very best life and clearly you two did all the right things to keep her healthy and happy as you did. Annette
