Friday

Yesterdays and today's weather reports - really extremely windy especially for this time of year and it went on for much longer than a normal storm
Nice fine start , but still with very big gusts of wind

Mount's Bay still full of white caps and SCIII waiting in Penzance until after 2pm in the hope the weather will have calmed down
Both Lifeboats and Coastguard helicopter 924 were out searching from Praa sands to Prussia Cove
Person was eventually found in water and was taken from Prussia Cove to Praa Sands, but sadly passed away shortly after. Very sad week here in the Southwest
Penlee Lifeboat Ivan Ellen on their way back to Newlyn
Baling up on the top field
You can just about see Scillonian III on her way out of Mount's Bay on a late start - gather the trip was OK
From Penlee facebook page - "At 4.41 this afternoon the inshore lifeboat Mollie & Ivor Dent Launched from Newlyn at the request of Coastguard Operations Centre at Falmouth.
With Andrew Wood at the helm and volunteer crew members Amy Smith, James Roberts & Dan Sell on board they sped across Mount's Bay to Perranuthnoe.  Reports had been received from teo German tourists that a surfer was possibly in trouble off the beach. The lifeboat carried out a shoreline search with a negative result. False alarm reported - with good intent"
A quick wave
Checking out a swimmer
Who was fine I gather
Sad to see what the gales have done to the Hydrangeas  - these are at the front of the house
This smaller one at the end was a bit more sheltered
Afternoon walkies
Still rather misty
Field looking neat and tidy
Some type of Thistle about to spread it's seed all over the village
Noticed this Hydrangea in the garden also wind burned
