Big gale overnight which carried on all day - wind gusting up to 64mph up at Gwennap Head and still over 50mph this evening
When most of the trawlers are safe in port one was heading out
Scillonian III had made a very early trip to Scilly and with a fast turnaround got home before 1pm. She's now safely on Albert Pier for the night. Hopefully the wind will drop as she's due to make a late afternoon trip tomorrow
One of the Magpies from this years brood. There have been pure white ones in the past but this one has a rather odd mixture
But look how pretty it is in the sun
Could hear that the engines were working hard against the wind
JS Greensky out amongst the white caps
Navigator Saturn
The cut grass was turned today
But the wind was helping out - think most of it will be at the bottom of the field by tomorrow - reminds me of the Tumbleweed in old Westerns.
Wow, that is a choppy sea! Hope your garden survived! Not like the tree at St.Euny churchyard! (see Facebook).
ReplyDeleteYour Magpies are quite different from ours. Very pretty.
Lovely photos, as always. Love the tumbling grass video.
Happy days!
Betty
Our Magpies are not quite like that one - really strange one - sadly the Hydrangeas haven't fared well in the wind - but more flowers to come. Wind died down now - but more expected next week - but not that bad ! Sue
