Tuesday

Early start on a beautiful morning as Jim's car was going in for its service and MOT
Just a quick dash up and down the hill - car delivered to Helston and Jim picked up by me - it was such a fine day we decided to go back to Penrose as we were already close by
Lots of dogs there today as the walking in the trees was nice for them
Thought I knew what this was - but I was wrong
Wonderful corn field with blue sky

No idea why all the cattle were lying down
Looking over to Prussia Cove with the top of the Castle above
The chimneys and engine houses of the Trewavas Mine

Heading down towards Loe Bar
Loved these Thistles at the top of the hill

Down the steep path
The new footpath goes very close to the lodge house
Looks like the work on the Loe pool overflow is almost finished
Hot dog just about to have some water

much nicer walking in the shade today

Wondered if this was Purple Loosetrife down by the water
Makes me so angry - dog poo right by the bin with the owners just walking away - Jim picked it up of course
Heading back to the car after coffee and cake
Huge Welted Thistles all over the field
I think that these are Beautiful Demoiselles

Not long after we get home I noticed smoke out to sea and could see that the Penlee Lifeboat was on the way out - turns out it was  FY12 Ocean Harvest  the crew had safely abandoned ship to their life raft and  were swiftly taken aboard the Ivan Ellen. We watched through the 'scope until we had to go out to fetch Jim's car
When I got home it was still burning - with both the Sennen and Penlee Lifeboats in attendance - it later sank and the lifeboats stayed around - collecting debris I assume
Jim insisted on taking the dogs for an evening walkies - then wished he hadn't as it had been a long very hot day !
Looked nice out there
We both had a go at photographing the partial eclipse of the moon

  1. Another long session catching up on your blog and admiring all that blue sky, wild flowers, and the activities and walks. It is very annoying that we had such bad weather for our long stay this year, and directly we left, along came the sun. Ah well, I cant complain as I usually have good weather most times.

    1. It is annoying when the weather doesn't co-operate we had a lot of rain and showers and cold wind on holiday - and it's been fine ever since we got back ! Looks like it's changing a bit now - just in time for the school holidays ! Sue
