Monday - A Grand Day Out - Jim's Photos

Arriving at the car park at Kynance Cove - quite a surprise to find these calm and placid Devon Ruby Red Cattle grazing
Never even looked up as we walked right past with the dogs
Looking down at the beach - lots of sand went in the storm a few weeks ago - but tide was on the way out

We were too early for lunch at the cafe, so carried on with our usual walk - but this time I didn't have to stagger over the boulders in the stream - nice little bridge and then steps up to join the original steps up the side of the cliff to get to the top grassy area

One long climb
Yes it was a long way up
The path goes the long way round - almost at the same height as the car park. We then drove to Lizard Village and after several circuits of the car park found a little space. Nice lunch at the Witchball Cafe and then we went for another walk
This time along the path to Kynance Cove that starts off on top of a wall - Jim last went on this path possibly 60 years ago. Not great for Social Distancing when we met people coming towards us
At the end of the wall walk we turned left on a path that leads towards the coast - can be extremely wet in Winter and much of it was along stepping stones - thank goodness for my trusty walking pole
Shipping passes much closer out here
Lots of footpaths out here - and lots of people

Some lovely low tide sand on Pentreath Beach
Saw this Pointer coming towards us - sadly they obviously didn't like the look of us as we gave the usual smile - ready to make the comment about not seeing many Pointers around - when they glared and walked straight past us. Poor Wooster
This part of the footpath was our usual walk in the past - so many steps - again !

Wooster having a little drink
Looking back down to Caerthillian Cove at the bottom of this steep valley. Back to the Lizard Village and a welcome Ice Cream before heading home.
