Seabourn Quest, from Falmouth to Fishguard
Pleased to report that the medication seems to be working and Jim can now sit up in bed without his head whizzing. After much nagging from me he's managed to sip some water without any ill effects
Hope he's feeling better soon. If it is indeed labyrinthitis it is nasty. I had it once - horrid. Best wishes. Ann x
ReplyDeleteI can sympathise with Jim as I used to get vertigo quite a bit. The onset was sudden, sometimes on waking up and the room would spin and a terrible nauseous feeling along with dizziness and weird eyes.
ReplyDeleteIf it is this instead of the other diagnosis, I found the Epley exercises really helped although it makes you feel worse while you are doing it (so keep a bowl handy.)
Vertigo can be caused by calcium deposits in the inner ear which disturb messages to the brain. The exercises help to move those deposits and then all is fine quite quickly. Just Google vertigo exercises, and there are others to choose from too.
Anyhow, just a thought in case the local GP is incorrect.
